THE CONCEPT
Flamenco has a complex history, which begins as early as the spanish inquisition. The oppression of a Spanish Gypsy culture by the spansish political elite over centuries led to the formation of an expressionate art form we understand today as flamenco. This documentary uncovers flamenco's star studded past, from its gypsy origins to becoming embraced by artists such as lorca dali and claude debussy. In pursuit of El Duende talks to artists, legends, politicians, music proffessionals, achademics and flamenco fans to understand the origins of the passionate phenomenon of El Duende, the only way to understand it, is to experience it.
